Sandra (then) Herbst moved to Brooklyn via New Jersey and purchased her first coop in 1986 in a newly converted building in Prospect Heights. Michael Dowling was her broker. They later married and Sandra established her own successful career in real estate as President and Principal Broker in Brooklyn Heights Real Estate, Inc. (BHRE).
BHRE located at 158 Montague Street since 1995 has remained at the initial location pleasantly surprising it’s great amount of repeat business while other “corporate entities “ keep shifting ownerships and locations. BHRE’s continued success in an era of corporate real estate is tied to the friendly, professional and “boutique” environment that engenders repeat business and referrals. Background Breaking barriers Sandra’s career in sales goes back to her first job as a teen selling Avon door-to-door. She continued her sales training after college, selling industrial hardware materials – one of the first women in the field.
